Adliya Bahrain
Adliya is a bohemian neighborhood of Manama city in the island nation of Bahrain which is located in the Persian Gulf. The place is a small but busy area with a blend of different cultures and it is also an area where many western expats live. Adliya is a place of culture and entertainment and has earned fame as one of the four centres of Manama’s nightlife. It is famous for having a number of restaurants which serve food from all over the world. Some of the famous restaurants are Cico’s, Casa Mexicana, Senor Paco’s and Coco’s.
Adliya has an old world charm and magnetism of its own that attracts many visitors. With Adliya having gained fame, many of the old townhouses are being converted into art galleries, restaurants, cafes, and eateries. The place is well known for its cafes, art galleries, bars, clubs, and pubs. The two storey Al Riwaq Gallery is one of Bahrain’s best known private galleries, which has a book shop on the first floor. Adliya is famous for its carpet shops – you would be surprised to know that there are 12 oriental carpet shops in this small road.
There are a number of restaurants which are quite famous and a haunt of some of the regular visitors. A few of the popular spots which attract tourists and visitors are BJ’s, JJ’s, Lilou’s, and Candle’s. One end of Adliya High Street is commonly called as Shawarma Alley because of the number of fast-food outlets, and this street is quite crowded in the evenings. Adliya has a number of excellent hotels for the comforts of the tourists. Some of them are the Gulf Hotel, Mansouri Mansions Hotel, and the Ramda Hotel.
