F1 Bahrain which is also known as Bahrain Grand Pix was sponsored by Gulf Air. The event was a history since Formula One tool place in the Middle East in Bahrain, after fighting tough competition from several regions which include Lebanon, UAE and Egypt. Everyone wished to be the host of this prestigious event, but it was Bahrain which became the chosen spot for the race. The inaugural race of the event was itself awarded as the Best Organized Grand Pix.

This Grand Pix which was held in Bahrain is the third race which took place in the Formula One Calendar. Bahrain is known to have swapped places with Australian Grand Pix which was postponed so that there was no clash with the Commonwealth Games – another most popular event of the world. Bahrain was responsible for staging the opening race of the 2010 season.

Though F1 Bahrain is popular for several reasons, one of its most talked about characteristic is the giant run off areas. There is much criticism that drivers who stray away from the tracks are not punished as this would be a safety measure. If drivers were punished it would be a way to ensure that sand does not get into the track and cause some fatal accidents.
